Under the general supervision of the Underwriting
Manager, has overall responsibility for the Regional Underwriting Specialist
and Business Improvement Underwriting units.. Supervises and coordinates
staffing, work assignments, employee performance and productivity of personnel.
Exercises underwriting expertise in determining statutory requirements
and acceptability for individual risks; requests for exceptions; and identifying
physical inspection needs to confirm physical hazards, liability exposures
and valuations as appropriate. Performs personnel function including hiring,
employee development and guidance, performance appraisals, work audits
and salary reviews. Leads and/or participates in various projects, committees,
meetings and training programs at the Company and Department levels.
This position works out of the Home Office supervising field employees
with travel requirements up to approximately 50%
