The Union FP Motor Vehicle Mechanic Lead is a working lead and under the direction of management. Leads are responsible for Safety and production requirements within the organization. Additionally performs and assists assigned work force in the analyzing of malfunctions and repairs, repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks or tractors. Work involves most of the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.


Basic Qualifications:
Must have High School Diploma or GED.

Must have 6 years previous experience as a mechanic

Must have 2 year experience as a Shop Foreman or other similar supervisor roles

Must have a valid State drivers license.

Class D CDL or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of offer.

Must have experience reading, interpreting, and performing maintenance in accordance to technical manuals and schematics.

Must be able to work in varying weather conditions.

Must have or be able to obtain Public Trust.

Must be a United States citizen or authorized to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in Microsoft Excel and word.

Basic Computing skills

2 years experience in maintenance training
