The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) consists of 56 telemetry beds enabling the provision of care for acute and chronic cardiac patients. Our patient population consists of post open heart, post cardiac intervention, heart failure, and/or any underlying cardiac condition. PCU receives approximately 40% of the total hospital admissions.
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of formal ward clerk training program or its equivalent. Requires adequate typing skills to use computers efficiently. Previous experience as ward clerk desirable, but not essential.
Job: Performs clerical, receptionist and computer functions for nursing unit and serves as communication facilitator for nursing unit to promote the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
