Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in carrying out departmental objectives in a unit of a department.

Major/Essential Functions

Oversight of IM resident training program and 36-37 active residents to maintain ACGME accreditation. Oversight of preparations for Endocrinology fellowship program for ACGME accreditation and maintenance of accreditation. Supervise and provide training for Assistant Resident Coordinator / Medical Student Coordinator as needed for resident related duties. Provide support for Program Director(s), Administrator, residents, and other staff as needed. Respond to requests related to resident program. Submit information into ACGME Web Ads, ERAS , FRIEDA , NRMP , New Innovations, TMB or ECFMG as required/needed. Work with GME Office as necessary for incoming/exiting residents, resident reports, resident visa’s. Working knowledge of ACGME Institutional requirements, common program requirements, fellowship requirements, and TTUHSC GME policies and procedures. Open and close resident clinics as needed for leave requests, on-call, or change of call. Create and prepare statistical reports for resident program. Oversee and maintain calendars/schedules for residents and program director(s). Oversee and organize resident interview season and interviews. Preparation and attendance during resident program meetings, conferences, retreats, and orientation.

Occasional Duties

Travel between Midland/Odessa as needed to coordinate resident program needs in each city. Travel to resident/fellowship program conferences. Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree plus two years of job-related experience; OR a combination of education and/or experience to equal six years.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with physicians in an office environment. Working knowledge or use of GE Centricity. Must be able to use MS Work, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and the Internet. Ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions. Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in the handling of confidential matters.
