As a technical resource the candidate will be working with CORE UNIX Infrastructure team on the following systems and technologies.
· Solaris and Linux System Administration.
· Email technologies such as Postfix, Procmail, Sendmail, etc.
· LDAP, DNS and NIS directory services.
· Network and Systems Monitoring using NAGIOS.
· Unix Systems Audit Process.
· Network and Serial Console Systems.
The candidate is responsible to install and configure Solaris and Linux Operating Systems on a new hardware using standard images available. This candidate should be able to write and understand scripts written in PERL, and UNIX SHELLs such as Bourne or c-shell. Involve with system monitoring, and support automation process, which includes designing and developing automation UNIX scripts.
The candidate should have strong knowledge of current and forthcoming Unix and Windows architecture, protocols, and concepts including Directory Services (LDAP/Active Directory), NIS, DNS, networking and file sharing protocols including TCP/IP, NFS, iSCSI, FTP, CIFS/SMB, SMTP/POP3 (Sendmail, Postfix, etc.), Console services, High Availability Clustering, MySQL database, etc.
Experience with technical specification writing and familiarity with project planning and flowchart tools required. Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills are required. Candidate should be able to work well under aggressive deadlines. Works well as a member of a team as well as independently. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
Education and Experience:
BS or MS with minimum of 2 years of experience in Information Technology as a Unix Systems administrator is required. Advanced knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, Mail, FTP, DNS, NIS, and MySQL administration are required. Working knowledge and experience with Solaris and Linux systems administration are strongly desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
