Coordinates the development, implementation, construction, and documentation of construction
upgrade/new build projects. Oversees activities such as pre-fielding, planning and scheduling.
Directs the construction related activities of subcontractor and/or in-house personnel and ensures
all safety and quality standards are met.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the individual contributors and team leads within the construction new build/upgrade function. Position may be responsible for measuring performance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Note: These accountabilities are not meant to reflect all duties for every incumbent. Rather, they are illustrative of the types of accountabilities that specific jobs may have. 
Provides for the timely construction of new build/upgrade cable/ Fiber related facilities by effectively coordinating and/or planning with other departments, utility companies, builders/developers and local governmental authorities. 
Schedules and directs the construction activities of subcontractor and in-house construction crews. 
Insures documentation is submitted for all builds. 
Administers job site quality inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable engineering standards, City and State Codes, and other regulations. 
May obtain construction permits and utility permits, including make-ready, right-of-way, railroad, road-bore and crossing permits. 
Improves work efficiency by recommending method improvements, budget expenditures, equipment uses and modified construction practices. 
Manages/Supervises first-line employees, estimates work loads and assigns priorities to ensure maximum productivity and that deadlines are met. 
Issues projects to subcontractors after assessing their work schedule, availability and area of expertise. 
Modifies system design and construction plans when problems occur by using discretionary authority and knowledge of theory and design. 
Monitors progress, material expenditures, overtime labor expenses, tool/equipment inventory. 
Ensures compliance with all safety, company, and regulatory policies and procedures. 
Compiles progress reports, maintains inventory and material requisition files, and tracks vendor deliveries. 
Provides for a safe work environment by training workers, investigating accidents and enforcing all company and regulatory authority safety rules and regulations. 
Represents the company with property owners, management companies and municipalities in resolution of differences arising from contract activities.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required.
Good driving record and valid driver’s license required
Ability to use various electrical and mechanical equipment required.
Manager/Supervisory experience required.
Knowledge of applicable safety regulations required. And NEC where applicable
Ability to read construction plans, analyze data, and prepare paperwork and documents required.
Ability to read design maps and do designs required.
Good data entry and math skills required.
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Five years of construction experience preferred.
Knowledge of all phases of cable system construction preferred
Knowledge of cable television products and services preferred.

Near vision acuity required to read information and complete documentation.
Far vision acuity required to drive a motor vehicle.
Hearing acuity with or without corrective devices.
Ability to effectively communicate in person, by telephone, and in writing.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and at night, when necessary.
