Prepares calculations and other engineering documentation using standard methods and proven procedures, computer tools and/or new analytical methods, as required. Prepares and issues contract information (CI) sheets, BEDD sheets, reports and other engineering documentation based on results of analytical work. Serves as a staff expert and in-house consultant. Continuously reviews and improves designs and engineering standards based on technology developments and operating experience. Identifies product improvement opportunities and defines studies needed. Justifies study expenditures, obtains approval, organizes, manages and completes work. Draws conclusions from studies and develops and recommends an implementation processes and manages the implementation process upon approval. Assures that this work is well coordinated with other disciplines. Conducts design reviews and comments on the organization's designs before they are proposed and during contract execution, as directed. Assures that component and system designs are cost effective, high in quality, and compliant with standards and good engineering practices, while meeting customer requirements. Reviews drawings and other engineering documentation for compliance with CI/BEDD sheet requirements, results of analytical work and codes and standards. Prepares technical specifications (or key portions thereof) for purchased equipment. Performs and coordinates engineering activities to be on schedule and under budget. Coordinates and interfaces with equipment suppliers to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Prepares technical evaluations of supplier's proposals (or key portions thereof).


Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of Electrical Engineering and effective working knowledge of the organization's technologies. Balances team and individual responsibilities while working effectively and efficiently. Works and communicates effectively with customers and vendors. Excellent written and oral skills. Effective presentation skills. Understands both the technical and commercial aspects of the organization's projects and proposals. Understands business implications of decisions. Develops subordinates' skills and encourages growth, while effectively managing multiple and conflicting priorities. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Delegates work assignments and matches the responsibility to the person.Should have a Bachelor's degree or Masters of Science in Engineering. A recognized expert in Electrical engineering with a well-developed knowledge of engineering principles and practices particularly in the area of offshore upstream oil and gas projects. Comprehensive knowledge of the organization's technology in general and a strong knowledge and understanding of how Electrical engineering activities integrate into the complete project. 15+ years of engineering experience.
