This is not a visual design job. We need Boxes and Arrows, not Planet Photoshop. That said, you’ll likely be involved in all phases of projects — discovery, design, development, launch, operation — so your secondary skills in visual design or writing or development or project management, certainly won’t go to waste.
Design engaging, usable, adaptive experiences for web, mobile and social platforms
Create design deliverables including wireframes, sitemaps and interactive prototypes, and present them to clients for review and approval
Partner with visual designers, developers and clients to ensure final products meet business and user objectives
Interface directly with clients; help them articulate project goals and requirements; and document those goals in project deliverables
Research user goals and behavior through qualitative and quantitative analysis, including contextual inquiry, task analysis, usability testing and web analytics
Create client-ready research deliverables such as personas, mental models, content models and scenarios
Identify members of the UX community who still insist on saying personae instead of personas; gently but firmly inform them that the ship has sailed
Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and their implications for user experience
Play a strategic role in the globalization of the UX practice as APCO StudioOnline grows its presence in Europe, the Middle East and Asia
Other duties as assigned (We *love* this one — buckle up)
3+ years UX experience with websites and web applications/architectures
A portfolio demonstrating application of best practices in information architecture, content strategy and interaction design
A strong client service ethic
BA/BS in technical or design related fields, or equivalent experience
