Centre College User Support Coordinator (Information Technology Services) Danville, Kentucky

This job reports to the Director of Information Technology Services .

Relocation is not provided and travel is not required.

This is a Full-Time position , working 1st Shift .

Overview
The User Support Coordinator manages the provision of service and support to users of the College’s technology. This individual is responsible for the efficient processing of user requests for assistance and the delivery of appropriate support to the various user constituencies within the campus community. Further, this person provides assistance as necessary to the other members of the Information Technology Services team and the Centre for Teaching and Learning in support of technology used

Further, this person provides assistance as necessary to the other members of the Information Technology Services team and the Centre for Teaching and Learning in support of technology used to sustain the academic mission, to enable the administrative operations, and to enhance the residential living of the College community.

Essential Job Functions:

Support the technology environment on campus with an emphasis on providing responses to requests for assistance received from the user community via the Help Desk, through e-mail, or by telephone;

Implement, maintain, and support the virtual computing environment, including provisioning desktops, updating base images on a regular basis, and ensuring service availability to all virtual computing users;

Support the technology environment on campus with an emphasis on providing responses to requests for assistance received from the user community via the Help Desk, through e-mail, or by telephone;

Implement, maintain, and support the virtual computing environment, including provisioning desktops, updating base images on a regular basis, and ensuring service availability to all virtual computing users;

Provide technical details to the Technology Support Specialist as s/he directs the employee support function, developing and implementing procedures for access to the campus network (both LAN and wireless) from offices, classrooms, and laboratories;

Implement departmental procedures for responding to the requests for assistance and trouble tickets submitted to the ITS Help Desk;

Manage the day-to-day functioning of all general and discipline-specific technology laboratories that are an integral part of the Colleges instructional program;

Manage the comprehensive software applications environment with emphasis on the installation of the software in appropriate locations and the distribution of that software to users upon request, assisting in the review of existing software titles on a regular basis;

Manage an effective mechanism that identifies and treats malware, spyware, and other threats to the electronic community;

Join other members of ITS in maintaining a current and accurate inventory of all technology-related equipment owned by the College and for which the department provides support;

Provide supervision for Student Technician employees;

Serve as the ITS liaison to the Managed Print Services Committee.

Education Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or an appropriate discipline.

Experience using networked software applications for word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail and web browsing;

Competent working skills in the Windows, Mac and appropriate versions of Unix operating systems.
