The Vice President – Physician Division, Verde Valley Medical Center (VVMC) is responsible for overall strategy, tactics, and systems related to the effective operations of all physician practices employed within VVMC. The position oversees medical group strategy and operations for VVMC providing executive leadership, guidance, coaching, and mentoring for the leadership within the employed practice infrastructure. Additionally, the VP works closely with the Verde Valley Medical Clinic (the Clinic) Physician Governance Council while collaborating with the leadership of Northern Arizona Healthcare system-wide support departments to ensure effective operations.
The position is accountable to ensure that Clinic physician practice policies, systems, and processes are in place for effective, efficient, and safe delivery of patient care. The individual provides executive guidance to the Clinic Physician Governance Council and is a member of the Verde Valley Medical Center Senior Management Team. In addition to the positions primary accountabilities and responsibilities, the incumbent shall continuously exemplify the mission, values and customer service philosophy of Verde Valley Medical Center and Northern Arizona Healthcare in job performance and in relationships to others.
*Masters degree in health or business administration or a combination of education and/or equivalent experience specifically relevant to the primary accountabilities of the position required.
*Certification or fellowship in a nationally recognized healthcare association (i.e. MGMA, ACMPE, ACHE) strongly preferred.
*Minimum of ten years experience in healthcare management with at least 5 years of progressive executive leadership growth and experience in a highly complex, comparably sized integrated health system.
*Proven leadership skills with an emphasis on focused, results-oriented outcomes and demonstrated willingness to take initiative in a constantly changing environment.
*Skillful and proven leader of transformational change.
*Pragmatic, team player that actively engages providers and staff to achieve exceptional operational outcomes.
*Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with staff, providers, leadership and other internal and external customers.
*Proven ability to create and maintain an environment of continuous quality improvement; advanced training and understanding of process improvement science strongly preferred.
