COMEDY CENTRAL is currently seeking a Vice President of Multiplatform Programming & Promotion Strategy. The successful candidate will oversee the day to day management of Comedy Central Programming and On-Air Promotions Scheduling, including creating and executing long-term and short-term programming strategies across multiple platforms, maximizing ratings opportunities, managing the departmental staff, and coordinating the flow of information regarding Comedy Central programming to all stake-holder groups.

S/he will:
Drive overall strategy and operational direction for Comedy Central program and promotions scheduling

Create and execute programming strategy for all programming destinations, including linear, VOD and emerging platforms.

Manage weekly, quarterly and annual schedule to meet ratings targets via scheduling stunts and adjustments

Develop roll-out plans and launch schedules for all series, specials and tentpoles

Facilitate the implementation of channel strategy via close partnerships with ad sales, affiliate marketing, press, digital, consumer marketing, on-air promotions, off-air creative, research, promotions marketing, traffic, standards & practices, ancillary business divisions.

Actively monitor competitive landscape for opportunities and trends

Position reports to Executive Vice President, Program Strategy & Multiplatform Programming

Specific Responsibilities include:
Ensuring a cohesive long and short form programming strategy is in place and is clearly articulated throughout the organization.

Developing programming stunts to increase ratings, support special programming and maximize the utilization of extensive programming library

Representing plans & strategy to senior management via presentations and in meetings.

Monitoring shifts in viewership patterns on Comedy Central and incorporating the information as it affects the overall programming strategy.

Work with Ad Sales to manage inventory, hit quarterly revenue goals and create marketing packages.

Providing ongoing evaluation of the programming marketplace, competitor tracking and best practices.

Managing the coordination of shared programs with sister networks.

Managing programming staff; providing career guidance and development opportunities.

Basic Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in program scheduling for a television network or cable channel.

Bachelor’s degree required.

2+ years in a VP or Director level position in programming at a television network or cable channel.

Minimum of 5 years of prior experience effectively managing, training and developing staff.

Strong computer skills including knowledge of programming scheduling software, as well as proficiency with common office software programs including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required.

Must understand and be able to communicate Nielsen rating information.

Proven ability to effectively manage conflict and competing priorities.

Ability to align team performance with the goals of the department and business.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills required.

Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

Desired

Multi-platform experience – VOD, mobile, .com - highly desired.
