This position is located within the Operations Branch, C om bat Camera Division, Department of Public Affairs, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps (HQMC), in Washington, DC. The Operations Section is responsible for the preparation of Visual Information products that visualize instruction, tactics, techniques, training, briefs, and other information services to be employed by HQMC.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
Drug-testing designated position/random testing for illegal drug use

Position may require occasional travel (10%) DUTIES:
  • Provide audiovisual (AV) and visual information support for the C om mandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), Assistant C om mandant of the Marine Corps (ACMC), director Marine Corps Staff (DMCS), Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps (SMMC), Deputy C om mandants (DC), and c om mand staff agencies with the National Capital Region.
  • Ensure that the organizations strategic plan, mission, vision and values are c om municated to the team and integrated into the teams strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services.
  • Use extensive knowledge in AV installation, modern AV standards, building codes, AV networking, A/V systems architecture, and acceptable tolerances to support audio visual systems to convey the information via c om puter briefing programs, project management records, and historical archives.
  • Develop and publish preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all AV systems.
  • Monitor physical security and equipment accountability; establish procedures in maintaining equipment accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience with modern building standards, building codes, architecture and acceptable tolerances to support audio visual systems.
  • Experience in multimedia using AUTOCAD or other industry standard design software allowing for conceptual drawings of proposed ro om installation or upgrades to existing ro om s.
  • Experience using a variety of visual media, including design methods and techniques.
  • Experience determining necessary facilities requirements for audio visual systems, including adequate electrical calculations and network requirements.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE : Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Ph .D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D degree or LL.M, if related, in the following areas: c om mercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual c om munication, or other fields related to the position Graduate level education must have been in an accredited college or university.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent c om binations of education and experience may be c om bined to meet the total qualification requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.
