The VP of Commercial Operations will lead the effort to define MedAssets commercial/sales processes by providing overall leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure operational controls; administrative and reporting procedures; and people systems are in place for maximum process effectiveness and efficiency. She/he will lead the activities of multiple employee teams performing all aspects of business process design to include: developing plans, budgets and strategies in order to support MedAssets Sales objectives as well as promote revenue, profitability and growth. This individual will provide “hands-on” process support and be responsible for promoting best practices via supporting improvement projects throughout MedAssets commercial/sales operations. In order to be successful, this person needs to be a self-directed, individual contributor who can effectively communicate across multi-functional areas.
Participates with the Executive Team in annual and long-range strategic planning for commercial operations.
Lead the commercial/sales operations to implement, coordinate, evaluate, analyze, assess and direct all operational processes and work across assigned departments to ensure process effectiveness/efficiency.
Ensures consistent and effective communication of processes in order to strengthen the provision of high quality processes and engagement of employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with key management to establish the optimal sales team structure, key processes and guidelines, sales goals and quotas, schedules and tactical actions for targeted opportunities, and monitor and measure sales execution and results.
Assess sales metrics information and business analytics such as product data, financial modeling and progress against Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Assists in driving utilization of performance data and customer feedback to ensure top issues are routinely addressed at the root cause level and on-going monitoring is institutionalized.
Manage the organizations sales pipeline and work with Finance Planning & Analysis to forecast monthly, quarterly and annual sales volumes
Manages complex programs; implements goals, objectives, standards of performance; develops operating policies and procedures; interprets customer policies, standards and regulations to appropriate staff.
Provides knowledge of best practices and processes (Quality Management, Lean Sigma), analyzes existing practices, collect data, and make recommendations.
Identifies and drives operational processes to reduce variation and eliminate waste. Proficient in applying problem solving tools to real world situations to realize efficiencies.
Works closely with segment sales on pipeline management, deal review, client management.
Management of the corrective action process; works with owners to drive action, reviews closure plans to ensure sustainability, publishes KPIs and proactively alerts leadership to risks and critical customer issues.
Provides direction to each functional group to drive quality assurance and planning/control; ensuring a smooth transition through product/solutions development, integration, delivery, production and support.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
7 to 10 years of experience managing/leading commercial operations across multiple segments including sales, client management and delivery.
Experience in operational and strategic planning, building highly effective teams and customer focused sales processes.
Strong financial acumen, P&L management a plus.
Project management and process improvement experience a plus (Six Sigma / Lean Thinking)
Strong work ethic with the ability to complete tasks and deliverables under tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility

Must have the ability to manage a team of individuals, including setting team objectives and priorities and manage them to completion.
