Vice President, Data Platforms
This is a newly created position at Moxie that will lead and grow our Data Platforms team with the goal of building a high-performing organization specializing in large-scale structured and unstructured data systems, ETL, CRM and reporting engines and portals. The successful candidate will be joining Moxie at the early stages of a company-wide technology and business process transformation that will pervade every group and department while building new capabil
ties. You will lead the design and implementation of a new data management platform that will integrate all of Moxie’s client data assets in a single logical data warehouse; that will exploit the latest Big Data technology, including Hadoop, NoSQL, and unstructured tools; that will leverage recent developments in business intelligence, data mining and predictive analytics; and that will power a new API-driven distribution tier.
This role demands mastery of both enterprise data management technology as well as the soft skills of executive leadership - leading by example, effectively communicating at all levels, developing talent and driving a team for results. While experience in the field of market research is a plus, you must demonstrate exceptionally strong aptitude in conceptual thinking and in the ability to quickly understand the essence of our business domain. Manage and evolve the portfolio to meet business needs. This includes participating in strategic planning processes, defining a technical strategy, establishing and implementing data systems based on corporate architecture direction and setting the direction of the maintenance/migration of legacy apps to enterprise reference implementations. Partnership where candidate collaborates with the agency and clients to provide technology solutions to business problems, adapts initiatives and direction to align to changing business priorities, able to advocate for technology agenda, able to influence business decisions and direction, and develops into a trusted teammate for agency partners and clients.
Provide direction and consultation to technology teams in support of business applications. This includes leading and coordinating activities throughout development and ensuring the appropriate use of standard models and software packages, standard methods of integration, as well as the development of common application services.
Mentor and coach developers. Provide advice to team. Oversee internal application design reviews.
Ensure that standard development processes and technologies are used in the design, construction and implementation of applications and shared services.
Master's degree or equivalent work experience or certification.
10+ years experience in enterprise data management.
Expertise with 3+ database technology environments.
