This position is responsible for all Facilities, Engineering, Capital Project management, maintenance, Security and Environmental, Health & Safety activities of Impax Laboratories, Inc. and develops policies and guidelines for these areas. A primary responsibility is to assure that all assets are adequately planned, installed, qualified and maintained to support the research, development, administrative and commercial activities of the business.
This role is also responsible for the primary development and maintenance of the Capital Spending Plan within Impax in conjunction with Corporate Finance. The incumbent manages all aspects of these responsibilities including control of significant capital and expense budgets, management of professional and technical line personnel while maintaining regulatory compliance. (FDA, EMA, DEA, BNE, OSHA, EPA).
Provide process equipment and utility systems to support new products and continuing operations. Evaluate and implement improvement opportunities all areas of responsibility.
Management of all aspects of the security and maintenance of physical property and improvements or expansions as necessary to support company needs. This is especially important in the storage, processing and transportation of schedule 2 and 3 narcotic containing products and materials.
Promote employee safety and health programs by providing internal and external resources for the proper management of required activities.
Directly responsible for the implementation and monitoring of annual departmental operating and capital budgets, consistent with our sales and financial objectives.
Supports the goals of operating and compliance metrics that monitor the performance of the operating units.
Demonstrate personal and corporate commitment to compliance with cGMP, DEA regulations, and Impax’s financial control requirements.
Develops internal staff and determines Organizational Structure required to support Impax’s planned growth. Evaluates existing talent and establishes requirements for recruiting key resources.
Participates as part of Impax Laboratories’ Executive Management Team with the goal of contributing to the success of the company through cross-functional communication and operational excellence.
Engages in continuous learning regarding our business processes and technology. Supports the philosophy of knowledge transfer among the technical functions.
Analyzes current and future business needs and provides resources to meet those needs.
Assures compliance with all environmental regulations and is responsible for obtaining all required permits.
Requirements / Qualifications:
B.S. or Advanced degree in Engineering required.
Fifteen (15) years of Industry experience with at least 10 years within the Pharmaceutical industry. Strong preference for prior experience with solid oral dosage forms.
A minimum of 5 years managerial experience within engineering and operations.
Proven record of ability to manage effectively within a technical environment.
Must be able to lead through influencing others as well as through direct chain of command.
