As the Operating Company (OpCo) VP Finance, the incumbent serves as the CFO for and the business partner to the OpCo President. The VP Finance's primary function is to ensure that the OpCo's short and long term financial goals are met. He or she will provide financial and business insight to the OpCo president and leadership team, including analyzing competitors, customers, suppliers, and other OpCos' benchmarks. The incumbent will understand PFG's and the segment's strategies, key inititatives, and success factors, and she or he will help craft OpCo initiatives that support them. The VP Finance leads the OpCo's business planning activities, including short and long term forecasting and periodic performance analysis. The VP Finance is also responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of the OpCo's financial results, including legal entity and regulatory compliance. The incumbent functions as a team member within his or her own department, within the OpCo leadership team, and within PFG's finance function. Finally, the VP Finance performs any duty assigned to serve the company.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Analyze OpCo performance across the financial statements -- P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow -- both in terms of actual vs. prior year and vs. budget, and report findings and recommendations to the OpCo president and leadership team and to PFG's corporate and segment leadership.
Lead the development of the OpCo's annual budget and the business plans required to achieve it. Lead the development of the OpCo's capital plan and ensure that individual Capital Appropriation Requests earn an appropriate return.
Manage the Finance department, including financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, trip accounting, credit management, fixed assets, and rebate tracking areas, and including co-ordination with PFG's business service center and other affected groups. Participate in the development of PFG's financial and control policies.
Supervises associate, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
