The spot:
The Vice President of Finance will play a key leadership role in the strategic and financial planning of the company. As the leader of the Finance Team, you will help facilitate and drive the analysis, frameworks and financial plans to unlock value in our business. You will define and drive to conclusion annual planning cycles, develop and execute effective forecasting processes, and manage a variety of value-add projects.

In this role, you will manage all aspects of accounting, controls and financial analysis with a flexible, innovative, service-oriented approach. You will oversee the internal accounting control structure (Sarbanes-Oxley compliant) and evaluate existing, and propose new, financial policies and procedures. You will manage the relationship with our independent certified public accountants for the annual audit, interim period reviews and all auditing or tax projects.

You will have a profound impact on the future of TheLadders.com at a defining moment in the evolution of the company. You will be more than just the most senior executive dealing with financial planning and analysis, reporting and overall financial operations. You will be a strategic contributor to company direction and growth.

The skinny:
You will provide guidance to the President in all operating matters
You will lead the company’s financial controls and the corporate financial and operating reports and dashboards
You will support the President in any corporate transactions related to the purchase or sale of assets or changes in capitalization of the corporation
You will lead the accounting and finance teams to ensure delivery of a high level of sophistication in reporting, analysis, forecasting and design of all financial functions
You will ensure all budgets and forecasts are completed in an accurate and timely manner and that they properly support the business
You will lead finance-related Board of Directors presentations
You will serve as ambassador of the finance organization to key finance constituents
You will develop and maintain business and financial models to support internal decision making processes and external stakeholder negotiations
You will effectively manage the finance and accounting teams
You will be a business partner to the functional heads and business owners

The specs:
You must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in financial planning, accounting or investment banking; experience with a major accounting firm is preferred
MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a top-tier school preferred
CPA preferred
You must have extremely strong analytical and problem-solving skills and business acumen
You must be able to thrive in a business of our current size (300+) but also be prepared for significant growth
You must be a highly motivated team player and a great team builder/leader
You must have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude in developing and implementing systems and processes
You must enjoy and thrive in a fast-paced environment
You must have the ability to think creatively in helping operating managers meet their needs and objectives
You must be able to rapidly and accurately analyze a situation to arrive at an effective decision
Start-up or high growth company experience preferred
You must have the desire to help us build our success over the next few years
