Will play a pivotal role in executing the company’s continuing growth strategy. He/she will be responsible for creatively positioning the company as a leader in its space for its target vertical markets (such as Chemicals, Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities, etc.). He/she will work closely with Sales and Product Management to develop and implement an aggressive go-to-market and lead generation strategy. He/she will also utilize the latest technology in marketing automation to track campaigns and publish detailed dashboards to provide visibility on metrics and KPIs on marketing effectiveness
Know the Industry / Identify White Space and Opportunity :
Interact with the sales teams and the key decision makers within the respective verticals to better understand their needs and buying patterns.
Develop relationships with industry analysts for market positioning, articles, quotes marketing and white papers.
Actively engage industry forums and organizations (ACC, AFPM, etc.) to keep a hand on the pulse of the industry.
Create and Deliver Multi-Tiered Messages :
Consistent with the company’s overall branding, develop messages and campaigns that resonate with key decision makers (buyers) in the target verticals/companies.
Develop industry specific campaigns for online, print, conference, email, and video channels
Develop presentations for delivery at key industry forums and conferences.
Provide Sales Support and Training :
Work with Sales, to develop buying profiles and go-to-market strategies for the verticals.
Work with Sales management on pipeline development (lead generation) and pre-qualify prospects .
As required, work closely with Sales (including meeting with customers) to expand our relationship with clients. .
Help develop sales materials, market messages, presentations, graphics, creative way to explain what we do, training materials, playbooks, and testing program.
Manage our Conferences and Trade Shows:
Plan and execute increasingly attended Meridium Conferences world-wide
Seminars, annual conferences executive meetings etc.
To develop community, convince prospects, and educate
Develop Marketing Execution Plan :
Develop an integrated marketing plan targeting executives and plant management that ensures awareness of the company’s solutions amongst the key decision makers and buyers.
Support Channels and Partners program to coordinate marketing strategies for the key verticals.
Work closely with Sales to regularly review marketing KPIs and Metrics to ensure that the marketing plan is effectively aiding the sales process.
Develop a strategy for raising company awareness amongst the press and analyst communities.
Data Driven Decisions :
Leverage campaign effectiveness data in Eloqua, Google Analytics, and other monitoring tools to ensure marketing ROI.
Help Define Industry Business Plans :
Assist Sales in developing industry-specific business plans, which translate into specific, detailed execution plans with defined targets for developing, marketing, selling, and supporting the solution.
Work closely with the Sales and Services teams to identify promising partnership opportunities on an industry by industry basis.
At least 10 years experience in industrial enterprise software marketing.
At least 10 years experience in, or marketing to one of the target industries
Solid understanding of the needs of executives, plant management and end-user roles within the respective industries and a customer-first mentality.
Business orientation and an ability to see the big picture and direction of the industry.
Detailed understanding on how enterprise software is evaluated and purchased by large companies.
An ability to create a vision for company’s solution as it relates to industry trends.
In-depth understanding of the competitive landscape in each of the target verticals.
An understanding of software development and implementation processes.
A detailed understanding of marketing automation platforms (Eloqua experience a plus!)
Solid understanding of CRM systems, integration into marketing automation and other systems
Demonstrated leadership capabilities including a proven track record of gaining the respect of others.
Ability to develop a business plan including a detailed, marketing execution plan.
Focused of delivery of business results
Ability to work cross-functionally.
Ability to develop compelling messages for customers.
Ability to quickly summarize and communicate complex information for multiple audiences (e.g., engineers, managers, executives).
Ability to organize and facilitate user conferences, tradeshows, and promotional events.
BS in engineering, computer science, marketing, business or a related discipline.
MBA or graduate degree in related topic preferred.
Approximately 20-25 % travel.
