Title: Vice-President, Resource Development

Exciting opportunity to join the United Way of Forsyth County in Winston-Salem, NC as the Vice President, Resource Development. UWFC is a progressive United Way achieving strong community impact results and is a leader in per-capita giving. The VP of Resource Development reports directly to the CEO and is a prominent individual in the community. We are seeking the right person to lead team of 8 to:

Develop, execute and achieve revenue targets, including $17.3M annual campaign

Supervise, support, motivate and hold accountable resource development staff

Use data to analyze results and to plan and direct execution of annual campaign, including timeline, campaign case and growth strategies

Build strong relationships with CEOs and business community; provide s primary staff support to key accounts, must be able to make the ask

Recruit, lead and support campaign volunteers and loaned executives; partner with campaign chair to manage and share responsibilities to achieve goals

Manage communications to build donor relationships; work s with communication director to provide direction for key communication materials

Develop strategies to attract new donors, enhance support from current donors, and expand affinity groups

Develop s and remain accountable for department budget

Serve as member of the Executive Leadership team

Core Competencies:
Experience with all aspects of fundraising preferred, including direct mail, annual campaigns, major gifts and planned giving.

Proven record of achieving results

Build relationships; hold strong belief that successful resource development requires relationships and donor engagement

Act strategically

Seek continuous improvement and growth

Strong oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills

Highly organized with strong planning skills

Education Bachelor degree, Masters preferred

Experience Seven to ten years experience in fundraising, including strong annual campaigns. United Way campaign experience preferred. Supervisory experience required.
