Managing the data and valuation team. These responsibilities include setting goals and objectives for the department as well as long term strategic planning. This role will also be responsible for the mandatory and voluntary corporate action process. In addition to developing the strategic plan, this person will be expected to have a hands on and detail oriented approach to managing the data and corporate action processes. This role will have a direct involvement in the performance management and development process for the staff.
Develop and implement a two prong approach to managing the firm’s static data. The successful candidate will need to work with the current staff to implement tactical solutions to meet our current data and valuation needs. Simultaneously the successful candidate will be tasked with defining the end state as it relates our data governance and valuation efforts and develop the road map that will allow to achieve the end state.
Facilitate the day-to-day operations of data validation and exception processing to ensure accurate data delivery prior to the opening of the financial markets.
Oversee the daily and monthly securities valuation process to ensure all securities are properly valued. Work closely with Portfolio Management team to develop a robust process to ensure all market inputs are captured and accurately processed
Work closely with members of the valuation committee and outside accounting agents to develop oversight procedures to ensure accurate and timely valuations for our commingled products.
Develop and implement a consolidated corporate actions process to deliver optimized capability, maximum performance, and efficiency and mitigate risk.
Ensure all corporate action events are properly addressed by reviewing all terms and conditions including deadlines and position reconciliations. The leader will work with the portfolio managers / sector specialists to obtain timely elections.
Work closely with other areas of to review market data usage and cost.
Establish business metrics to measure the efficiency and accuracy of the data governance, valuation and corporate actions functions.
Document all current procedures and ensure the documentation is updated accordingly.
Supervise, develop & motivate direct reports.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance / Economics, Mathematics / Statistics, Information Technology or related discipline.
Minimum 10 – 15 years’ experience in a position within Data Management, Corporate Actions, Operations, Finance, Risk Management and/or Information Technology functions.
Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reference Data Systems, Portfolio Accounting Systems (especially Princeton Financial PAM)
Demonstrated expertise in Fixed Income Products including structured securities
Working knowledge of SQL
