Role Description
The VP of Engineering should be a great manager and team-builder. He or she should be an excellent recruiter, a great communicator and great at helping resolve disputes or issues.

The primary function of the Head of Engineering is to build a great engineering team and implement structure to help remove any obstacles that are getting in the way of the engineering team succeeding.

The VP of Engineering should lead the engineering team in a dynamic and passionate fashion and be responsible for helping the team deliver on the full potential of the company's vision; they should set achievable, motivating, stretch goals, and manage the team to hitting the deadlines.

Recruit, motivate and mentor the best engineering talent
Lead by example, coding up to 20% of the time
Implement and oversee execution of QA process
Implement and oversee release cycle for SDKs
Translate long-term product roadmap into a development plan with clear milestones
Develop the engineering culture to focus on transparency and accountability
Manage agile development process
Partner closely and seamlessly with existing executive team to give transparency into development progress
Manage short term product requests against the wider long-term plan

Ideally have a CS / Engineering degree
Should have strong experience managing agile development teams
You have worked at a startup and / or significant growth environment before
Highly process oriented and organised
Strong cross-functional communication skills; able to translate complex requirements into high level summaries
