The Vice President of Marketing role is critical to building the consumer centric marketing strategy. The position will focus on further developing innovation, communication and the value proposition for this growing grocery retailer and distributor. This role will create a clear and consistent brand message for the banners and independent retailers, building visibility and loyalty with consumers, and driving traffic. This VP will push the organization to think differently and take calculated risks.
The VP of Marketing will have full responsibility for all marketing activity. The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for overall marketing and advertising, marketing research, brand positioning, targeted messages and comprehensive integrated plans and banner marketing campaigns.· Oversee, optimize consumer loyalty program a must.· Provides strategic direction for marketing and advertising groups. Creates, executes and manages all strategic marketing campaigns in alignment with positioning.· Oversees consumer market research to enable customer focused business decisions on behalf of the organization.· Develops and leads launch plans for new product introductions.· Manages advertising agency relationships.· Leads the marketing, advertising and graphic services departments· Creates brand initiatives consistent with marketing trends, consumer insights and competitive information to enhance the Company image and brands.· Lead cross-functional relationships within the organization with special emphasis on merchandising and operations.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate will be an accomplished marketing professional with 15 years experience, including 5 at the leadership level. Will have experience working on consumer driven businesses, preferably with a multi unit component (Grocery, CPG, Retail), strong customer communication focus.
S/he must have a proven track record of success in development of advertising and promotions, loyalty marketing, market research, brand positioning and integrated, multi-channel marketing.S/he will likely have started his/her career with a best-in-class Grocery Retail or a Consumer Packaged Goods manufacturer, ideally, will have proven his/her ability to be successful in a entrepreneurial, and operationally focused organization. S/he will have proven strategic ability and the ability to use analytics to drive marketing innovation and can both generate creative ideas and execute against these ideas. S/he will have successful experience creating growth in the top and bottom line. Must have a track record building high performance teams.
