The VP of Operations reports to the Senior Vice President/General Manager and is responsible for managing the overall production and mailing operation in St. Louis, MO. Using Lean and Six Sigma approaches and techniques, the VP Operations will focus on exceeding client service levels while improving the cost, efficiency and quality of the work being produced within the operation. The individual will work in concert with the Output Solutions Operations Committee to ensure that the overall Output Solutions enterprise is considered in decision making relative to capacity and project planning. The VP Operations is a member of the St. Louis leadership team.
As a Senior Manager, VP Operations is responsible for Operations Management of the following functions:
Through joint consideration/planning, determine pertinent goals, budgets, etc. both long/short-term for General Manager, senior management and parent company approval. Coordinate various functions with managers on matters such as investigation of alternative operation methods and recommending alternative approaches and plans; expediting of activities; scheduling of work between plant operations; expansion of facilities, acquisition, and acquiring of capital equipment; major repairs, overhauls, and plant layout; and 3rd party negotiations. Work with and through senior Client Executives relative to client needs and changes, same with Sales on new business opportunities. Utilize trade journals, attend seminars, trade association business meetings and exhibits, and related to keep abreast. At this level incumbent is expected to be able to perform independent of supervision and technical assistance. Technical and management problem solving is a major responsibility and requires innovation, research, investigation, inquiry, analysis, and evaluation. Regularly works with confidential information and data requiring care to protect.

- Capacity management
- Industrial Engineering with a focus on process improvements, space planning
- Warehousing including Secure Vault Storage,
- Shipping and Receiving
- Technical Maintenance
- Other related or assigned functions for the overall organization.
VP Ops must have a working knowledge of financial statements and the principals of accounting. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is a requirement. Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma processes are required, appropriate certifications are desired.
Up to ten years of direct mail manufacturing experience with 4 –6 years in management or closely related experience.
A Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, operations management, business management preferred or equivalent combination of education/experience . Graduate degree in business or operations is preferred.
