Major Purpose: Lead business development efforts of the Railway Industry and Chemical Solutions Group. Primary responsibility will include developing railroad, industry and chemical alignment and logistics solutions targeting specific industry and customer opportunities. Combine and align group's diverse rail and other capabilities with other services to offer a comprehensive and integrated supply chain solution. Maintain and elevate relationships with existing and potential customers, market research, identifying opportunities, working with team to prepare and submit proposals and negotiating contracts. Requirements/Qualifications: Demonstrates a proficiency and understanding of the railroad, industrial and chemical markets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written). Creative and strategic in approaching issues. Capable of developing a team through defining roles, promoting relationships, expressing appreciation and encouragement, providing support and motivation. Possess good analytical skills that aid in solving problems in a positive and proactive manner. Commercial project conceptualization and development ability. Commercial, financial or operations background. Excellent computer skills (emphasis on Microsoft Excel and Word). Generally understands accounting, financial and budgeting systems and principals. Good planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and carry critical projects to completion. Ability to work with multiple operations and multiple tasks. Effective time management. Strong presentation skills both in an internal company setting and in a customer setting. Treats team members with fairness and respect (consistent). Honest in dealings with company, employees, vendors, and customers. Hardworking and self-starter with the ability to work independently. Anticipates problems and has the ability to bring about creative solutions. Demonstrates a sense of ownership for responsibilities, yet is willing to learn. Is passionate about the work and success of the company, employees, and customers. Has a sense of urgency when dealing with the needs of the company, employees, and customers, has a desire to do the right things for the right reasons. Set an example of professionalism and service. Education/Experience: Bachelor degree. MBA and 5 years applicable experience or 7-10 years' experience. Experience in railroad operations; understanding of industrial and chemical logistics; commercial experience a plus. Qualified candidates must be able to pass an extensive background check including MVR and pre-employment drug screen.
