We are looking for an extraordinary VP of Engineering, to manage and optimize the growth of the development organization in the Company. The VP of Engineering will report to the CEO and will be responsible for growing, leading, retaining, and mentoring the engineering team. You will be responsible for devising and effectively implementing a development methodology that ensures not only that the best products be released to market as scheduled, but also that this process fosters and rewards the innovative and creative efforts of each member of the engineering organization. Demonstrated prior success building and leading engineering organizations within a highly-scalable software environment with exposure to development/product environments such as web platform, high volume, multi-tenant SaaS, big data.

Extensive engineering track record in innovation and delivering high quality complex products, and sustaining development of products for extended periods of time.
Able to define a clear product strategy and architecture that can be translated into realistic engineering deliverables.
Able to work effectively across functions to serve as the voice of engineering within the organization.
Great organizational skills, engineering resource and budget planning skills.
Successful background growing a team.
Broad understanding of Enterprise SaaS.
Possesses a roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic, and an unshakeable passion for building great products.
Ability to bridge technical-business divide.
Experience working with Agile development methodologies and practices.
Experience converting from one platform/language to another and building a zero down time platform.
Strong customer and peer relationship skills.
Excellent communication and motivation skills.
At least 7 years experience in strategic/executive-level position.
MS/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science desirable.
Experience in programming languages such as Python, Perl or Java is a plus.
Experience with Postgres is also a plus.
Experience with Hadoop and memcached is desired.
