Vice President of Quality Assurance
The Vice President of Quality Assurance is responsible for all aspects of Quality for Benjamin Moore’s $1+ billion business. This involves leadership in the areas of Quality Systems, Color and Product Standards, Customer Satisfaction and Supplier Quality Management. The Vice President of Quality Assurance will drive continuous improvement and set standards of excellence in conjunction with the entire Operations organization, including manufacturing, product development, procurement and logistics, as well as the independent retailer network .
Key Responsibilities include:
Influence senior management and lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan that supports a strong Quality Assurance direction.
Influence the successful implementation of approaches and programs that drive Quality as a competitive advantage for Benjamin Moore to drive business success.
Ensure that policies, procedures and systems are effectively implemented to continually maximize Benjamin Moore’s ability to effectively strengthen brand equity while balancing the risks needed to deliver superior business results.
Leverage specification systems to ensure accuracy and increase agility.
Build the organizational capability and vitality of the Quality team via effective career development, coaching and mentoring.
Responsible for operational compliance to Quality policies, systems, specifications and procedures to protect Benjamin Moore equity and ensure consistent delivery of consumer desired products across the manufacturing network.
Deliver proactive leadership in system-wide audits across the supply network to ensure material, process, product and operational conformance to specifications and other requirements.
Leverage industry best thinking and in-house CIP team to drive continuous improvement mindset across supply chain network.
Manage a robust Customer Satisfaction process that tracks, measures and continuously improves product and logistics consistency.
Track, measure and continuously improve retailer color delivery to the customer via third party tinting equipment.
Drive skills improvement for Quality and other professionals across the supply network.
Develop, implement and measure compliance to policies, standards and technology to assure quality of supply base.
Work with subordinates to balance risk to provide flexibility to the business while protecting Benjamin Moore equity.
Provide regular objective updates of key measures of quality that drive the business to senior executives.
Develop comprehensive people development plan that ensures backstops for key positions and defines the future structure for Quality.
Provide input into the R&D strategic plan, ensuring the inclusion of key initiatives that drive Quality and an ongoing competitive advantage.
As a member of the Operations leadership team, ensure key strategies and programs to drive quality initiatives are supported and resourced.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience and strong technical depth in the leadership of QA organizations. Advanced degree is preferred.
Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience is required. Experience in a high speed, high volume manufacturing, assembly and packaging environment is required.
Minimum of 3 years experience at the Vice President level in a multi-site manufacturing and distribution environment.
Successful candidate must have the credibility and ability to influence senior executives' thinking regarding company direction.
Capable of collaborating with and influencing senior Operations team in a multi-disciplinary function.
Ability to stand-alone both internally and with external parties in areas affecting Benjamin Moore quality.
Broad knowledge of quality systems and requirements.
Ability to manage risks and deal with ambiguity in situations that affect equity.
Ability to set the direction for an organization and implement the changes needed to reach organizational goals.
Understand business needs and opportunities and how to leverage staff to deliver business success.
Work to deliver systems and processes that benefit the organization - across multiple sites and cultures.
Demonstrated experience playing a key role in a Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing environment.
Successful track record in reducing error rates, improving productivity and reducing costs; in-depth experience and proven results in driving significant improvement in customer satisfaction.
