Scope

The Vice President of Sales reports to the GM of North America Wholesale. S/he is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations within this US subsidiary including distribution and channel strategy, market competitiveness, leading teams and individuals, aligning cross-functional leaders and improving processes. The VP of Sales is a critical owner and driver of US Wholesale's revenue goals as well as customer acquisition & retention.

Basic Functions:
Drives the development of national sales strategies.

Works closely with the Head of US Wholesale and Head of Marketing to develop and implement channel and distribution strategies and programs.

Hires, supervises and develops Channel Sales Directors. Indirectly, supervises Regional Sales Managers and Sales Representatives.

Directly involved in the development and execution of sales training for new and existing employees.

Closely involved with the development and execution of compensation and sales incentive plans that support the goals of the business.

Has direct involvement with very large, high-profile customer accounts as appropriate; assists with complex sales negotiations; attends sales presentations and helps close important sales deals.

Leads the continuous improvement of processes and programs that enhance productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Oversees and drives the adoption of sales technology including customer relationship management (CRM).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, economics or a related field of study is required. MBA is preferred.

10 years of experience in a sales leadership role with half or more of that experience interfacing with C-level and other senior executives.

Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and the operational level.

Proven track record in varying market conditions and with new business development.

Experience successfully growing into new categories and developing Key Account Channel.

Ability to assume more significant executive responsibilities over time.

Outstanding interpersonal skills and a talented consultative sales leader.

Proven ability in aligning key leaders in support of the function's vision, strategy and key initiatives. In this effort, remains open minded and makes necessary adjustments to enhance the overall direction and goals of the function.
