Provides regular, safe transportation for CTC and other Bassett Healthcare patients who do not have other transportation options available. Operates the CTC Van in a customer friendly, professional manner according to customer service training, adheres to transportation schedules to meet scheduled appointment times. Provides information to patients when asked, provides directions to appointment locations and assistance to ambulatory patients from their home, to the vehicle and the hospital or clinic if needed or requested. Contacts new transportation patients to obtain directions to their homes and establishes pick up and drop off times to assure they arrive in time for scheduled appointments. Coordinates appointment changes with internal and external sources when transportation services exceed availability of van or when conflicts in scheduling arise. Maintains the hospital vehicle provided in a clean, safe condition. Assures routine service, maintenance, cleaning, and fueling of hospital vehicle is maintained. Provides monthly, YTD, and annual reports on the number of patients transported, mileage traveled, fuel used, and vehicle maintenance costs. Provides back up transportation shuttle services to employees and door greeter services to patients and visitors when schedules allow or are required. Provides back-up services to Security department when needed for unusual circumstances or emergency code situations. Attends all required educational sessions, courses, seminars, meetings needed to meet organizational needs or personal development. Provides other services as needed or required to support the overall Bassett Transportation Service needs.
- High School Diploma
- 1-3 Years of Commercial CDL or CDL Bus Driver experience
- Clean, Valid NYS Drivers License, NYS Class C CDL License w/Passenger Endorsement, Candidates with a CDL permit will be considered but will be required to obtain their license within six months of date of hire
- Must be able to walk, stand and sit for long periods of time (2hrs at a time)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally as needed to assist ambulatory patients and visitors from their vehicles
