Advertised Summary Job Description

The recovery room nurse works weekends and rotating holidays from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This individual provides constant care to patients after anesthesia-related procedures; monitors vital signs; and maintains hemodynamic stability, neurological stability, and pain management. The nurse must make quick assessments of patients and handle emergency situations appropriately. The nurse maintains confidentiality, protects sensitive data at all times, and complies with HIPAA regulations. He or she adheres to organizational and department specific safety standards and guidelines. The person in this position demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with patients and staff. He or she also needs to communicate information in verbal and written form to other nurses and to physicians, while maintaining accurate charting, flow sheets, and quality assurance logs. In addition, the nurse provides the patients with specific post-procedure instructions, and prescriptions, and ensures they are stable upon discharge and accompanied home by a chaperone.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachlors Degree or the equivalent in education, training and experience.

New York State RN or LPN license required Good physical assessment skills required Excellent written and oral communication skills required Able to perform moderate physical demands Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year clinical experience as an RN or LPN preferred
