The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science seeks a part-time Variable Hours Officer (Technical Assistant) to support the Columbia Video Network (CVN), the distance learning division of the School. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical assistance for the recording of the School's lectures in real-time and for asynchronous distribution to distance learning students at remote sites worldwide. 1. Assist with the timely recordings of live class lectures from multiple classrooms and studio operations including digital and analog equipment. (40%) 2. Install and monitor computer configurations in CVN multimedia studios and administrative offices; troubleshoot and monitor network systems and servers (20%) 3. Quality check and digital encoding of class lectures (10%) 4. Assist faculty and TA's on the use of online classroom technology (10%) 5. Maintain studio recording schedule (10%) 6. Perform other duties as needed (10%)
Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent. Up to 2yrs of related experience required.
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
College students with technical background encouraged to apply. Good communication skills. Ability to work in a live studio environment.
Knowledge of engineering design and computer programming helpful.
