Innovative school seeking innovative coach. Mount Vernon Presbyterian School (MVPS) is accepting applications for the position of Varsity Football Head Coach for the 2013-2014 school year. The high performing position of Varsity Football Head Coach plays a strategic leadership role in advancing the mission of the School: “We are a school of inquiry, innovation, and impact. Working with engaged students, a dynamic faculty, and a committed and connected parent community, Mount Vernon is seeking to appoint a person of strong character, an effective communicator, a motivator, a fierce competitor, a community builder, a collaborator, and a servant-leader. Competing in the Class 5-A region of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), the Varsity Football Head Coach oversees the football program for the School, including varsity, junior varsity, and two Middle School teams; coordinates staff organization; develops a competitive in-season and comprehensive off-season program; maintains a commitment to professional growth; and is an active member of the teaching faculty at MVPS. Head coaching experience demonstrating the ability to build a successful football program is preferred.

Established in 1972, Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, serving students in preschool through grade 12, is located in the heart of Sandy Springs, Georgia within the metropolitan Atlanta area. The Upper School campus is situated on a 30-acre campus. In August 2012, the School opened the Mustang Athletic Center -- 12,000 sq. ft. facility with state-of-the art weight room, locker rooms, athletic offices, training facility, and multi-purpose room. In addition, the School enhanced the football stadium with a new turf field, practice track, and stadium seating. Mount Vernon is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools and is accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and Southern Association of Independent Schools.
