Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level for patients of all ages ranging from infant to geriatric, not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative and can assist the radiologist in some interventional procedures. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures, as required. Serve as an ambassador of University of Toledo Medical Center in the community, demonstrating our organization's values, services and mission.
High school diploma or equivalent; satisfactory completion of a formal ultrasound program that meets standards of approval by ARDMS.RVT certification preferred. RVT certification required within two years.
1. Demonstrates clinical competency in caring for patients as identified in unit's Scope of Care. Demonstrates competency in the care of the patient in the following stages of the life cycle: infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
