Central Regional Hospital, a state psychiatric hospital located in Butner, is currently seeking a full time Vehicle Operator for Nutrition Services Department. The primary purpose of this position is to transport meal products, supplies, and nourishments from CRH to outlying wards in the hospital as well as wards off site, using a two ton truck. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: read and understand menu for meal to be served; collect serving utensils needed for meal service in accordance with portion sizes on menu for each item. Operator may be responsible to perform duties as assigned in the dish room following posted dish room position and responsibilities. This is a 1st shift position working 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, rotating weekends and holidays. Employee will be required to work during adverse weather events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:
Position requires working knowledge of traffic laws and regulations, ability to secure a valid NC Driver's license, working knowledge of the proper methods of loading and delivery and safe operation. Ability to operate a two ton truck. Must read and interpret written information and follow oral and written instructions; do moderately strenuous physical labor for extended periods of time working independently as needed and demonstrate knowledge of food handling and infection control procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Completion of grammar school. Necessary Special Requirement: appropriate North Carolina Drivers License for the weight and type of vehicle operated as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles. . . . .
