We have an exciting opportunity for a

Vessel (PCE - Process Containment Equipment) Engineer

in

Deer Park, Texas

. The Vessel PCE Engineer is responsible for the procurement and design of mechanical & PCE equipment within a project. Drums, distillation towers, heat exchangers, tanks, etc are examples of “PCE” equipment. Primary responsibility of this role is to lead the mechanical scope of work as part of the project team. Individual will apply leadership skills with technical knowledge in the design, application, and procurement of PCE equipment. Individual will ensures the Mechanical Work Process Discipline (WPD) is used on capital projects to provide the design activities necessary for the construction and maintenance of process plants. Individual will provide technical support to others and is involved with the creation and maintenance of global specifications. Applies knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems, applicable codes and standards to ensure the most effective design in compliance with Dow Safety and Loss Prevention principles, industry standards and local codes and regulations is obtained.

Responsibilities:
Mechanical Engineer serving as a focal point for capital and expense projects.

Ensure quality of deliverables, schedules, work hour usage, weekly/monthly status reporting, and effectively lead the mechanical scope of work as part of the project team.

Creates technical mechanical specifications, review/approve client specifications, prepare procurement inquiry packages, technically evaluate bids, and issue order packages for equipment, coordinate review of vendor drawings/data. Equipment scope includes all mechanical equipment, spares, and replacement parts.

Provide mechanical technical support to project design team and client.

Understands and will use the equipment procurement process for mechanical equipment.

Ensures that environmental regulations, Dow Safety and Loss Prevention principles, and other Dow Global Mechanical Integrity standards are considered in design.

Coordinates the input of supplier design data into the overall project design.

Coordinates additional discipline requirements into the design of equipment.

Participates in equipment inspections and testing as needed.

Develops detailed Mechanical Equipment Appendix for installation of mechanical equipment as part of contract packages.

Provides technical support during construction and start up of facility.

Is involved with improvements to the Mechanical WPD work process.

Participates in the development of global standards and specifications.

Qualifications

Requirements:
3 or more years of experience in Mechanical Engineering is required.

2 or more years of experience with fixed equipment design is requirement.

Advanced knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure codes, API standards, and other mechanical engineering related industry standards is preferred.

Knowledge of design and computer tools is preferred.

Prior experience with supporting Capital or Expense Projects would be a plus.

Education:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
