This position is responsible for the overall leadership and supervision of the Business Development team, and plays the key organizational role in acquisitions and strategic partnerships to achieve the company's strategic growth initiatives and investment criteria. RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Leads business development strategy through discussions with senior management and market analysis, actively identifies and pursues acquisition candidates and strategic partners through attending industry events, research, and recommendations from senior management, plays a lead role in negotiating the deal terms of acquisitions and strategic partnerships, final contract language in partnership or acquisition legal agreements, and recommends negotiating strategies and positions. Working closely with corporate attorneys, oversees legal agreements related to business acquisitions, partnerships and joint ventures, prepares and oversees ROI financial analyses for launches and acquisitions, analyzing financial information from acquisition prospects, creates possible deal structures and analyzes their financial and behavioral implications. Performs sensitivity analyses on key variables impacting ROI such as revenue growth and exchange rates. Oversees research into new industries, trends and feedback from prospective exhibitors/advertisers and visitors/readers regarding new concepts or acquisitions and reports findings. Coordinates the acquisition and launch process to ensure proper communication with internal and external parties. Manages Business Development department, to include budget, team leadership, performance management, and training.
