Report directly to the CEO. Responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company. Participate as a key member of Ventera’s Senior Management Team. Establish and maintain financial policies and controls. Perform all accounting, financial and management reporting, analysis, and forecasting and budgeting functions. Monitor performance against plan and provide insight related to performance and goals. Review and approve corporate contracts, develop pricing policies, and review client proposals. Oversee several administrative functions of the company including the Internal Network team and general Office/Facility needs. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Senior Management Team Support
  • Facilitate Board of Directors/Board of Advisors meetings
  • Coordinate financial reporting and serve as a key player for regular account & business development meetings
  • Participate in regular and adhoc senior management team meetings and decisions
  • Ensure accountability at all levels within the company
  • Serve as a key player in Ventera’s strategic planning process
  • Manage all aspects of Ventera’s stock and shareholder program
  • Serve as a key advisor to the CEO regarding company performance
Financial Management
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Provide status of financial condition of the company by collecting, interpreting, and reporting key financial data
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Provide accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements, monthly forecasting, monthly utilization, annual budgeting, and reviewed annual statements
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, employee expense reports, payroll processing, client invoicing and collections, revenue recognition, and all monthly accruals and journal entries
  • Supervise part-time employee responsible for payroll and other accounting functions
  • Maintain financial accounting system (currently Deltek FMS) and oversee conversion to a new accounting system expected in 2013
  • Ensure accurate time reporting and detailed project accounting
  • Define the structure and manage the accrual and payout of Ventera’s bonus plans
  • Ensure compliance with government cost accounting standards and contractual obligations
  • Manage Ventera’s banking relationship
Contract Management
  • Review and approve all corporate contracts including NDA’s, teaming and vendor agreements, and client contracts
  • Liaison with outside legal counsel as needed
  • Review all client proposals to include generation of cost proposal elements
Administrative Management
  • Oversee Internal Network Management and serve as an escalation point for key decisions
  • Oversee Office Management and Facility needs

Required Experience
  • 12+ years of relevant financial management experience required; prior experience within the professional services environment preferred
  • Experience working with Senior Management and contributing to the strategic planning process
  • Prior experience managing a team across multiple functions
  • Competence in billing, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
  • Understanding of government cost accounting standards
  • Relevant experience in contract management required
  • Prior experience in client proposal and pricing required
  • Prior experience implementing and maintaining financial accounting systems; Deltek FMS/Vision a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus; CPA certification preferred
