Vice President, Medical Product Management

This position is responsible for setting the strategic direction as well as the development and management of a variety of medical related products and editorial groups. The Vice President must be able to manage a large and diverse group of teams, encompassing onsite, offsite and international, while also focusing on the day-to-day operational details necessary to maintain the highest quality products. Team size is 120 FTE's to include international operations plus over 100 contract writers.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with executive leadership

  • Responsible for operational excellence and continuous improvement

  • Work closely with other departments to help shape the introduction and support of new products and the updating/enhancement of existing ones

  • Participate as a representative in all key projects. Develop business and strategic plans related to the above to assist in meeting the company's goal of being a leader in the industry

  • Monitor existing processes and facilitate methods and tools to measure and compare

  • Identify future leadership and mentor junior staff to develop a quality management staff, capable of independent team management

  • Support department vision and Sr. VP's periodic objectives and represent and promote EBSCO Publishing core values

Skills

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree with Advanced Management / Leadership Degree or Certificate in a Business related field

  • 5+ years of experience managing teams larger than 100 people

  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management of e-content

  • 5+ years of experience in development of collaborative Product and Market Development processes across teams

  • 7+ years of experience in Clinical or Nursing Editorial Publishing

  • Microsoft Requirements:

    • Excel: 5+ to 7 years required

    • Outlook: 5+ to 7 years required

    • PowerPoint: 5+ to 7 years required

    • Project: 5+ to 7 years required

    • SharePoint: 5+ to 7 years required

    • Word: 5+ to 7 years required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Executive Management experience

  • Excellent verbal communication; Excellent written communication

  • Leadership/supervisory experience

  • Positive attitude & team player

  • Strong analytical abilities
