The college seeks an academic leader with significant administrative experience in higher education, who will be fully committed to the mission of the institution, to the spiritual, academic, social, ethical, and moral development of the whole person.
The VPAA is the Chief Academic Officer of the College and Dean of the Faculty, and is second in authority after the President. He/she exercises leadership in the areas of graduate and undergraduate programs and policies, curriculum development and assessment, faculty development, enrollment management, academic budgets, and faculty recruitment. The Deans of the three Schools and the Library report to the VPAA, as do the Registrar, the Director of Institutional Research, and the Director of Student Learning Services.
Commitment to liberal arts education and to the inclusive Catholic mission of the College, collaborative governance, cultural diversity, strategic planning, and change strategies. Demonstrated leadership ability, vision, creativity, strong interpersonal skills, and a sense of humor. Earned doctorate and significant teaching and administrative experience in higher education at the level of Dean required. Successful experiences with student retention and program development desired.
