San Diego State University seeks an innovative and energetic leader to serve as Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs. San Diego State University, founded in 1897, is a research university offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees to a highly diverse student body of 32,000 students. San Diego State University is a national leader in international education, its faculty secured $130 million in external grants and contracts last year, and it competes in NCAA Division I athletics.

The Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs is a member of the University's senior leadership team reporting directly to the President. As the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for the University and its four non-profit corporations, s/he advises the President on the development of the University's combined annual budget of over $700 million. S/he will pursue an integrated financial strategy and maximize revenue streams in support of the University's strategic plan and its continuing development as a leading public research university.

The Vice President oversees divisional and auxiliary resources of over $190 million. Specific areas of responsibility for the Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs include Budget and Finance; Controller's Office and Financial Services; Intercollegiate Athletics; Real Estate Management and Development; Facilities Services; Capital Planning, Design and Construction; Human Resources and Employee Relations; Legal Affairs; Audit and Tax; Environmental Health and Safety; Public Safety; Information Technology; and Auxiliary Services including Student Housing Administration.

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience within finance and/or administration in a complex higher education environment, or substantially similar experience. An advanced degree is preferred.
