The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) a college of the State University of New York (SUNY), located in the heart of New York City is seeking an innovative, dynamic, and experienced leader to become Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. The Vice President maintains a high internal and external profile and is a member of the Presidents cabinet. This position provides innovative and visionary leadership in the design and implementation of college-wide recruitment, retention, and enrollment activities, as well as all other non-academic student success-related operations and oversees a divisional budget of $17M.

The Vice President reports to the President and must be committed to collaborating with key FIT stakeholders, including the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the academic deans and the Vice President for Finance and Administration, to develop and implement the Colleges comprehensive enrollment and retention plans. S/he leads research-based, outcome-oriented assessment and strategic planning activities to attract and enroll a highly qualified student body. S/he works with the Vice President for Communications and External Relations to develop comprehensive marketing and communications and with the Vice President for Development on scholarship strategies that will promote the College to prospective students. In addition, the Vice President designs and implements co-curricular and other student programs that will enhance students campus and residential experiences at FIT.

The Vice President is supported by a Special Assistant, two Assistant Vice Presidents, an Assistant Dean and nine directors. The Division includes the Academic Advisement Center, the Office of Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP), the Admissions & Recruitment Office, Financial Aid, Registrar, Athletics & Recreation, the Counseling Center, Residential Life (including the 4 residence halls), Student Life, and the Office of Disabilities Support Services (FIT-ABLE).

Required Qualifications:

-A master's degree in higher education administration, psychology, or a similar field;

-A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in enrollment management;

-Expertise in implementing strategies for outreach to new students and knowledge of strategic enrollment management theory, including recruitment and retention planning, as well as national trends and current best practices in the field;

-Experience in the design and implementation of enrollment management systems, student information systems and other institutional databases;

-Experience with predictive modeling and scholarship programs;

-The ability to develop a collaborative enrollment environment and a commitment to diversity and inclusion;

-Senior-level experience in managing other areas of student affairs; and

-Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

-An earned doctorate, Ph.D., preferred;

-Energetic and creative approach to work, outstanding organizational skills and demonstrated ability to think strategically;

-Participatory leadership style;

-Ability to work with students, faculty, administration, the K-12 community, and other colleges;

-Understanding of marketing and the development of marketing strategies;

-Extensive knowledge in data analysis;

-Ability to lead and motivate staff;

-Capacity to be a team builder and team player;

-A strong sense of integrity and tolerance of differing points of view;

-Excellent organizational and delegation skills and ability to work collaboratively in a higher education environment.

Additional Information:

Supplemented by a generous benefits package, the salary range for this position is competitive and will be dependent on experience and qualifications. The Vice President is expected to be available on a regular basis in the evenings and weekends.
