The VP for Enrollment Management is the chief enrollment/marketing officer of the College, reports to the President, and is a member of President's Cabinet. The VP is responsible for the integration and management of recruitment and marketing efforts for graduate, undergraduate, traditional, adult, on- and off-campus, and online students and programs, as well as financial aid and retention strategies. She/he is responsible for the development and implementation of annual and long-range enrollment management plans and the coordination of marketing initiatives. She/he provides leadership and oversight to the Offices of Admission and Marketing.

  • Provide leadership and direction to an evolving enrollment management initiative combining the functions of the Offices of Admission and Marketing
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of integrated processes and procedures for graduate, undergraduate, traditional, adult, on- and off-campus, and online recruitment and retention efforts
  • Direct development and implementation of enrollment plans to meet the College’s growth objectives
  • Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet
  • Collaborate in the development of a comprehensive, integrated marketing plan for the College in consultation with the Marketing Committee of the Board of Trustees and the Director of Marketing
  • Provide leadership in the review, evaluation and development of new initiatives for printed and electronic admission and marketing materials
  • Oversee the optimum utilization of information systems and technology to manage recruitment and retention processes
  • Communicate regularly with the College community to inform and broaden the understanding of and appreciation for enrollment initiatives, progress, results, and opportunities for collaboration
  • Develop programs and creative initiatives to engage others—faculty, staff, students, alumni, trustees and parents—in the efforts to attract, enroll and retain students
  • Establish and oversee enrollment management policies, systems, and procedures
  • Direct international student recruitment
  • Remain current on enrollment and marketing trends in higher education
  • Assist with institutional strategic planning activities of the College, with special attention to those having enrollment implications
  • Direct enrollment-related research and market analyses, including geo-demographic studies
  • In conjunction with the Office of Institutional Research, analyze institutional data and research to design and support effective recruitment and retention initiatives
  • Report on admission strategies and results, enrollment trends, and other key indicators to and for the President, the Board of Trustees, the staff and faculty, and other audiences.
  • Work closely with the CFO and Director of Student Administrative Services in determining strategic use of financial aid and other departmental resources and services in the recruitment of new students; optimize use of state, federal and institutional resources
  • Assume the lead role in building a model for student retention utilizing all appropriate campus resources
  • Assure adequate and appropriate annual and long-range budget preparation of the Division
  • Administer funds allocated through the approved annual budget or any approved extraordinary program of the Division within established limits
  • Receive for review and recommendation the items of the annual budget of the Division
  • Arrange for the preparation of new and/or revised management guidelines/procedures, job evaluations and professional development initiatives
  • Directly supervises the Directors of Admission and Marketing
  • Serve on the Marketing Committee of the Board of Trustees
  • Represent the College at events on and off campus
  • Other duties as assigned by the President
Primary Contacts: President & Cabinet members, Board of Trustee members, prospective students, the Department of Institutional Research, the Office of Student Administrative Services, students, division directors and staff, faculty and other members of the college community, local employers

Supervision Exercised: Oversees the Directors of Admission and Marketing; administrative responsibility for Enrollment Management Division.

Supervision Received: Reports to the President

Education: Advanced Degree Preferred; Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree Required

  • Significant experience in higher education recruitment, retention and marketing required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a strategy-driven enrollment operation
  • Knowledge of strategic institutional branding, marketing, and public relation
  • Experience with budget management
  • Proven track record of effectively leading a team
Specialized Training: Proficiency in all aspects of technology that are critical to the operation of a 21 st century higher education enrollment operation
