Asbury University seeks a highly qualified individual to serve as Vice President of Student Development and Dean of Students.

The primary responsibility of the Vice President is to oversee the daily operations of the Student Development department and serves as Dean of Students. The V.P. of Student Development also oversees Leadership Development, Campus Ministries, Counseling Center, Residence Life, Student Health Services, Student Success & Intercultural Programs and Athletics. The V.P. will formulate and administer policies and procedures consistent with generally accepted practices for accredited institutions of higher learning. In addition, they will supervise key personnel and functions that guide the Student Development department including policy and programs. He or she will also serve on the President’s Cabinet, the President’s senior leadership team.

The successful candidate will possess a Christian commitment that is compatible with Asbury’s Wesleyan-Holiness heritage. They will also demonstrate an understanding of the value of a Christian liberal arts education within the context of a Wesleyan-Holiness world view. The individual will possess the highest integrity, firm commitment to supporting Asbury’s historic mission and current leadership while modeling both personally and in the family the highest standards of evangelical Christian commitment. A terminal degree in a field of study compatible with the institution and complementary to the expectations of the office is preferred. The candidate should have an employment history which demonstrates a breadth of administrative, academic leadership and institutional planning experiences and skills in accredited liberal arts settings similar to Asbury University in mission and purpose. Experience with regional and professional accrediting bodies is preferred. Position becomes available summer 2014.

A terminal degree in a field of study compatible with the institution and complementary to the expectations of the office is highly preferred. The candidate should have an employment history which demonstrates a breadth of administrative, academic leadership and institutional planning experiences and skills in accredited liberal arts settings similar to Asbury University in mission and purpose. In addition the candidate should have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible related work experience. Experience with regional and professional accrediting bodies is preferred.
