The Vice President of Distribution and Sales Support plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of being our customers’ competitive advantage by ensuring overall operational excellence and superior sales support aligned to the company’s growth and financial goals. This position leads the organization’s distribution center, wire and Modiflex centers, and sales support functions including purchasing, inventory management, business intelligence, pricing, product data and customer returns. Their leadership consistently promotes our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to be our customer’s competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Provide strategic leadership, management, and direction of the teams noted above
  • Ensure profitability and strong performance of our distribution functions and services; including continuous improvement
  • Maximize distribution center/wire center efficiencies and space optimization
  • Ensure overall inventory integrity through consistent processes and accuracy in value and quantity
  • Minimize the amount of dead/layered inventory and reduce write offs annually
  • Partner with sales groups to facilitate profitable growth of our services offered
  • Provide guidance and support to company branch operations
  • Develop members of the Distribution and Sales Support teams through effective coaching and mentoring
  • Execute on sales support plan to support sales/growth strategy; pricing, purchasing and inventory management
  • Maximize customer satisfaction through distribution, delivery and services efforts
  • Develop strong working relationships with key company departments in order to meet customer expectations, grow our company and enhance the performance and profitability of our company
  • Create a high performing culture driven by individuals with diverse experiences, thoughts, and backgrounds

  • Must be able to develop and execute company-wide level strategies and initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with other Regional Sales Management teams as well as other departments
  • A passion for fostering strong, genuine relationships with employees and customers
Required Experience
  • Four year degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum seven years’ experience required; ten years preferred
  • Previous leadership experience required
  • Prior P&L and budget responsibilities required
  • Previous experience with implementing new initiatives and practices
  • Negotiations experience required
  • Ability to manage multi-functional projects
  • Understands selling strategies and sales processes
  • Keen understanding of technology and technology impacts on the distribution functions and services offered initiatives
  • Knowledge of Eclipse is preferred
  • Electrical distribution experience is a plus
