Purpose: Responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by FASB, the SEC and other regulatory agencies and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate for a publicly held corporation.Major Tasks, Responsibilities Key Accountabilities: Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.Negotiates Business Insurance Programs to ensure best pricing with minimum risk for Corporation.Works with outside Tax Professionals to ensure minimum tax liability is achieved.Lead risk management review and develop controls to mitigate risk to corporation including fraudLeadership for enforcing Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and foreign anti-corruption lawsParticipate in the development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner.Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President and other executives in performing their responsibilities.Oversee internal audit functions, proactively inquiring, assessing and confirming financials of divisions as well as consolidated financials.Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.Provide technical financial advice and knowledge to others within the financial discipline. Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers and pension funds and investments.Optimize the handling of bank and investment relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism which includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.Be an advisor from the financial and business perspective on any contracts into which the Corporation may enter.Manager corporate credit rating, working with any appropriate rating agencies.Participate in investor relationship activities including conference calls, podcasts, and presentations.Responsible for finance department talent and structure for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth.Reviews reports to analyze projections of sales and profit against actual figures, budgeted expenses against final totals and suggests methods of improving the planning process as appropriate. Reviews and approves sales commission programs and pay outs.Provides guidance on overall compensation programs, assisting in bonus and long term incentive calculations. Serves pro-actively on internal compensation committee.Serves on appropriate retirement plan committees, assisting in decisions regarding investments, plan features, etc. as a fiduciary of the plans.Analyze company operations to pinpoint opportunities and areas that need to be expanded, reorganized, downsized or eliminated.Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
