Jacobs Associates is seeking a Vice President of Finance who will become a key member of the firm’s operations committee. The VP of Finance serves as the leader of the firm’s finance and accounting team and reports directly to the firm’s head of finance. The primary function of this position is to manage the firm’s financial and accounting functions, monitor the financial performance, advise Sr. Management on financial matters, and serve as the firm’s Controller.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • FAR and GAAP-compliant financial reporting
  • Responsible for overseeing accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and accounting software management
  • Prepare monthly and year-end financial reports and other management and operation reports including; forecasting, budgeting, cash management, overhead expenditures and tax planning and projections
  • Audit work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized
  • Work with external auditors, manage bank relationships and other vendors
  • Establish and manage international accounting procedures and tax planning and compliance
  • Manage the accounting staff to coordinate work, monitor performance and provide training
  • Accounting software management, including reporting, modifications and implementation
  • BS in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; or BS in Engineering, with an MBA in Finance or Accounting;
  • CPA preferred
  • 10 + years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in A/E or professional services environment is desired
  • 5+ years supervisory responsibilities of delegating, training and developing staff
  • Experience with Deltek Vision preferred
  • Strong communication skills with ability to discuss financial information with all levels of management
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadline requirements
