Responsible for directing quality patient care and Home Care Program services in accordance with Barnabas Health philosophy and policies. Leads and utilizes effective management skills--directing, delegating, implementing, and evaluating. Analyzes and evaluates goals and objectives, budgets, financial strategies, and operating functions for areas of responsibility. This position requires e xcellent written and verbal communication skills required for contact with employees, patients, families, community and medical staff.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current license. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years progressive management experience preferably in the home health / hospice environment. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in personnel and resource management, daily operations and service planning and evaluation.
Full time to meet the position requirements.Requires participation in administrative call on a rotating basis.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Provides leadership and direction to management and staff to facilitate accomplishment of BHHC's strategic and tactical goals and targets.
Plans, coordinates, supervises, and maintains quality patient care and services of all established programs and ventures of BHHC to include, but not limited to: the Home Care Program and On-Call services. Interacts with regulatory and accreditation bodies and their representatives. Ensures sound operations and Agency compliance with all required licenses, accreditation agencies, and certifications.
Provides leadership and direction necessary to accomplish BHHC’s strategic and tactical goals and objectives. Develops, interprets and implements BHHC and program policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
Demonstrates and models service excellence behavior at all times. Responds with concern, cooperation, and respect. Establishes cooperative working relationships.
Assists in establishing and maintaining a culture that is committed to quality, service, and people.
Models behavior that communicates support for and commitment to the BHHC mission.
Holds Managers accountable for maintaining consistent procedures across all teams.
Develops and oversees BHHC performance improvement and quality management initiatives. Actively participates in service excellence initiatives. Reports suggestions and recommendations for positive changes on BHHC policies, procedures, forms, etc. to the President.
Works closely with the Planning and Marketing Department and applicable personnel to develop public relations literature and programs that enhance the public image of BHHC, maximize reimbursement opportunities, and promote service utilization.
Manage Medical Director Relationships.
Works closely with the Vice President of Community Outreach collaborate and facilitate marketing, patient/family relations and referral source development.
Identifies new referral sources and/or growth opportunities and, in collaboration with Vice President of Community Outreach, develops plans and targets for growth and other key BHHC indicators.
Identifies industry best practices and/or technology to improve efficiency and customer relations.
Implements procedures, process design, or new technology in order to improve efficiency
Maintains current knowledge of the healthcare industry, professional practice updates and trends, and potential effects on BHHC to ensure the development and maintenance of staff/management competencies.
Develops Managers as leaders and role models within the Agency.
Actively participates on applicable Agency and System's committees
Ensures that Managers are holding employees accountable for the staff member's performance (technical and behavioral) through BHHC
Participates in the performance management process by consistently providing constructive feedback on performance results. Assists staff in setting appropriate goals which have value to the Agency and are related to the Agency's' mission and strategic goals and objectives. Initiates developmental and corrective action steps as required.
Participates in the capital and expenditure budget process. Manages financial resources, materials, and supplies prudently and effectively to ensure compliance with the budget. Justifies budget overages. Manages human resource capital effectively to control overtime usage.
Coordinates and facilitates applicable meetings (i.e., staff, recruitment and retention, etc.) and in-services. Informs staff on pertinent information including, but not limited to: changes within the BHHC, healthcare reimbursement, referrals, etc.
Serves as a liaison between the Agency and the community. Participates in and supports appropriate community events. Networks in the community to develop relationships that will be beneficial to the Agency.
Promotes a safe environment for all patients, families, visitors, customers, and employees.
Investigates and completes occurrence reports on any injury or illness in a timely manner. Implements corrective action to prevent future reoccurrences. Regularly reviews Agency safety policies and procedures to ensure a high level of awareness. Ensures that all employees are oriented to and understand their role in safety.
Performs other duties as assigned by the President and Executive Director.
