Job Title: Vice President of Human Resources
Work Teams: Human Resources, Service Partners
Reporting Relationship: Senior Vice President of Global Ministry Services

Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for supporting the global leadership in all matters of Human Resources. The role is highly collaborative, and will work with the President of the ministry, and Senior Vice Presidents for Operations, Finance, and Ministry Efforts. It will require both leadership and facilitation skills. The ability to develop an appropriate global HR infrastructure, effective processes, and deal with a diversified team of leaders will be essential for success.

There are two distinct aspects to the role :
- Provide leadership and direction for the global HR team
- Leadership, direction and close involvement with the North American HR activities

Global HR
Oversee HR staff globally in the provision of HR support to the relevant local and regional leadership. Provide leadership, training and support where necessary
Ensure appropriate HR staff, programs and resources are in place to support the ministry
In collaboration with the President, Senior Vice Presidents and other leaders, develop a foundation of policies and practices to be implemented and enforced across all ministry locations (eg. ethos and values, staff training and development, performance reviews, succession planning, etc.)
Effectively utilize the HR resources, expertise and gifting across the world with the objective of optimizing synergy, avoiding duplication of effort where possible, and developing joint programs, policies and processes if appropriate.

North American HR
Lead and manage the Grand Rapids based HR team in providing core services of: recruitment, compensation, equipping, training, developing, engagement, supporting, rewarding and retaining employees, volunteers and student interns, who are Godly (Christ like Character), Gifted (Competent, Committed), and Globally minded (Collaborative, Chemistry) to effectively carry out the mission, vision, ethos and values of RBC Ministries.

Job Requirements and Specifications:

Study or Knowledge and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree is required, Business Administration or Management or related field;
A Master's degree and/or comparable training and experience is preferred.
A minimum of 10 years senior level experience in Human Resources Management is required.
Must have strong leadership and communication skills to form and maintain good rapport with employees at all levels in the ministry in order to develop and maintain an effective team work environment/culture.
Experience of working with different cultures in a global HR role is a strong preference.
