Position Summary

The Vice President of Marketing is responsible for providing leadership for all global upstream and downstream marketing activities. This individual owns the development of ACIST’s global commercial strategy, the alignment of the organization on the strategies and driving the execution of the strategies, for both new and existing products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to drive the strategy and organization focus to change from one product line to multiple products in a 24 month time period

Understand and own the full life-cycle of product marketing: product conception, product definition and development, product launch, growth and maintenance, product re-invention and end of life

Active participant and leader in the product development process. Ensure well executed market roll-outs that meet customer needs, achieve corporate long-term growth targets, maximize profitability and R&D investment

Develop and drive global customer and sales strategies (50% OUS sales), including pricing strategies. Support the sales organization with knowledge, tools and leadership to meet revenue and profitability targets

Develop and execute the long-term and annual marketing plan and the strategies, tactics and resources necessary to achieve revenue and profit goals

Create a system-wide marketing reporting function that tracks, measures and analyzes performance metrics other than sales (market share, pricing, etc.)

Build strong relationships with the global sales organization

Direct the marketing efforts of distributors globally

Required Skills

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) :

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business related field, M.B.A. preferred

Minimum of 15 years experience with increased responsibility in the life sciences and/or medical device industry in a variety of marketing positions, including upstream and downstream product management;

Experience marketing or selling interventional cardiology products at the procedure level required

Experience leading people managers and building a high performing function

Experience in an organization with a rapidly changing product line

Understanding of how to develop and implement a transformational change in product portfolio

Has established relationships and ability to form trusted partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders, senior level hospital executives, and staff

Strong interpersonal skills, business maturity and good judgment; capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals

Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking/planning as well as execution

Experience working with global distributors and/or direct sales forces

Experience managing and building a strong team with trusting relationships

Ability to travel up to 50%


Sales, strategic planning, new business development or market research experience

Will have successfully designed and executed such plans within the diagnostic imaging and/or cardiovascular industry

Must have a strong, demonstrated track record of success

Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising

Demonstrated ability in the selection, development and leadership of global marketing professionals

Demonstrated leadership ability within the organization – beyond the marketing function. The successful candidate will ensure buy-in to corporate goals, measure performance and be held accountable along with the team

Experience aligning organizations and marketing strategies during and post company or product line acquisition

Experience working in both large and small organizations

Experience utilizing GPO’s and OEM’s as part of business strategy
