REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Vice President of Marketing will serve as the company’s chief marketing and communications officer and reports to the President and CEO

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will develop and lead the company’s overall marketing and communications strategy and programs. He/She will be responsible for strategically positioning the company’s product and services offering, developing and executing programs to drive lead generation and reduce the company’s sales cycle, as well as promoting and positioning the company in a proactive and favorable manner to key external and internal audiences.

The Vice President of Marketing will have the following responsibilities:

Create, develop and manage a strategic and integrated marketing and communication platform designed to competitively position the company’s product and service offering, drive lead generation and reduce the company’s sales cycle, and reinforce the company’s reputation as a distinctive service and innovation leader:

Working collaboratively with Business Development, Sales and Account Management on product service positioning (key message map, web, proposals, white papers, case studies, success stories)

Targeted though leadership reinforcing content generation (research, white papers, articles, speeches)

Targeted customer, prospect, supplier, regulator communications

Media relations leading to high impact trade and business press presence (quality and quantity)

Special events (institutes, breakfasts, webinars)

Association programs (CE training, chapter programs in core markets)

Influencer program

Integrated marketing calendar

Lead the development of CSG’s website into a potent marketing lever and a source of competitive advantage

Lead the development of distinctive content and special events to engage CSGs prospects and clients

Oversee and manage all advertising and promotions activities, including print, electronic, direct marketing outlets and other vendors. Research and formalize cost effective, cutting-edge initiatives to target and reach key audiences and influencers.

Provide marketing and strategic communications counsel to the CEO and Operating Committee and develop initiatives to support overall business goals.

Ensure brand consistency, integrating and reinforcing communications across all touch points (PR messaging, website, newsletters, sales process / proposals, special events, impact updates, renewal materials, customer service (BVIP) experience)

Establish and maintain relationships with key trade and business reporters in core CSG markets, cementing CSG as the “go to” resource for media on employee benefit issues. Collaborate with media relations / PR partner to

Develop short and long term plan for each publication/reporter

Proactively pitch media outlets to raise company/product profile

Research and respond to incoming media inquiries

Research and formalize cost effective, cutting-edge initiatives to target and reach key audiences and influencers, including economic decision maker executives, HR leaders and client employees

Lead the development of marketing and public relations programs to support key business initiatives such as new products, partners, geographies, promotions and sponsorships nationally, as well as in priority markets.

Stay abreast of industry, marketing and public relations trends to identify new opportunities and ensure value-added approach/results. Ensure comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of CSG media coverage as well as its primary competitors. Use results of this evaluation to drive positive change and enhancements to CSG’s media relations program.

Develop public relations materials including press releases, fact sheets, Q&A, statements, etc.

Oversee management of marketing and public relations budget and ensure expenses are aligned with strategic initiatives/priorities. Provide direction/manage external agencies, as needed.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will be a business to business services marketing and communications leader with a proven track record of impact over 10+ years, in an entrepreneurial corporate / professional services environment, preferably with exposure to the health insurance industry

He/She should have:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field; MBA a plus

Demonstrated ability to develop strategic marketing and communications strategies and plans that are aligned with business goals

Proven track record of driving business results through effective development and execution of marketing campaigns including brand building, advertising, event marketing, direct marketing and internet marketing

The ability to develop effective media relations strategies in response to changing market, or competitor dynamics

Excellent oral and written presentation skills

Demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to work well cross functionally and through others

Experience managing external vendors and agencies

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
