Job Description:
Manages and supports all operations, staff and functions within the Sales Department. Directly responsibile for the company's revenue and developing plans and strategies for increasing business and achieving the company's sales goals. Reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Objectives/Accountability:
  • Manage the sales team, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth
  • Successfully deliver on set sales goals for the position
  • Provide detailed and accurage sales forecasting
  • Put in place infrastructure and systems to support the success of the sales function
  • End of month reports that summarize the activity of the month
  • Manage the use of budgets
  • Exceed customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions
  • Partner with Revenue Manager to be able t yield rates and ensure the highest ADR possible
  • Work with Revenue Manager to optimize fill of each group
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions
  • Work with Conference Services Manager (s) to creat FAM agendas/eents for individual properties
  • Define and overse incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets
  • Work closely with the marketing function to establish successful channel and partner programs
  • Work with VP of Marketing to insure that each of the Miraval Group program information for all marketing pieces and website is accurate and up to date
  • Assist the VP of Marketing with the creation and maintenance of Sales collateral materials
  • Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities
  • Participate in sfaff meetings
  • Conduct weekly sales staff meetings
  • Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives
  • Recruit, hire and develop sales staff
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships
  • Montior and develop team member performance to include professional development, counseling and evaluations
  • Work closely with the Director of Programs to meet group activity needs
  • Ensure that Expert contractual agreements are followed when utilizing Miraval Experts that are on independent contracts
  • Work with talent (Experts) to plan Miraval Groups in all locations as well as set pricing and content
  • Assists Sales Managers with planning and executing in-market events
  • Assists Sales Managers to create memorable FAM trips
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS

- Hospitality Management Degree or four year equivalent degree
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Hotel?Resort Sales and/or Conference Services
- Thorough understanding of luxury hotel/resort/spa market
- Excellent customer skills, superior interpersonal skills
- Results oriented and highly motivated
- Proven ability to plan and execute events effectively with a strong attention to detail
- Working knowldge of Visual One and other PMS systems, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet usage to include research
- Knowledge of forecasting and budgeting process
- Good udnerstanding of all hotel departments, particularly guest relations, housekeeping, spa, food and beverage, and reservations
- Strong written, verbal and electronic communications skills
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure
- Knowledge of meeting space capacities pertaining to health and safety procedures and terminology of meeting room set ups
